A troubled writer enters rehab and learns to rebuild her life.

Gwen Cummings is a talented journalist and writer whose life is spiraling out of control due to alcoholism. After causing a major problem at her sister's wedding while drunk, the court orders her to spend 28 days in rehab instead of jail. At first, Gwen refuses treatment and refuses to admit that she has a problem. However, as she interacts with other patients and professionals at the center, she begins to see her life in a different light. The film explores themes of addiction, recovery, responsibility, and rediscovering oneself in a heartfelt and sometimes humorous way.
