A government agent slowly transforms after exposure to alien technology in District 9.

A massive alien spacecraft appears above Johannesburg, but the extraterrestrials inside are revealed to be stranded refugees rather than invaders. They are confined to a restricted area known as District 9, where tensions between humans and aliens continue to grow. During a government operation, bureaucrat Wikus van de Merwe is exposed to mysterious alien technology that begins transforming him in disturbing ways. Blending documentary-style realism with brutal sci-fi action, the film explores themes of segregation, fear, and human cruelty in a uniquely intense and emotional way.
