The epic 88-day defense of Ansi Fortress by a small Goguryeo force against the massive Tang army.

Based on a 645 AD historical event, the film depicts the 88-day Siege of Ansi. Commander Yang Man-chun and his Goguryeo forces defend their fortress against 500,000 invading Tang Dynasty soldiers in a legendary display of bravery and military tactics.
