A private detective stumbles through a hilarious crime mystery.

The film is a parody of 1940s noir detective films. Private detective Lou Peckinpah gets involved in a complex crime case in San Francisco. When his partner is murdered, Lou faces mysterious women, corrupt politicians, and dangerous criminals. At the same time, he tries to unravel a conspiracy involving valuable treasure and secret documents. Throughout the film, there are many humorous situations and references to classic detective films. The plot humorously repeats such famous films as "Casablanca" and "The Maltese Falcon". The performance of Peter Falk is one of the main strengths of the film. The picture is known as a nostalgic comedy that combines the detective genre with humor.
