A mother fights Norway's child welfare system to reunite with her children.
The film is based on true events and tells the story of Debika Chatterjee, an Indian mother living in Norway. The Norwegian Child Protection Service separates her two children from their parents. Debika believes this decision is unfair and begins a long legal battle to get her children back. She has to fight against a foreign government system, bureaucratic obstacles and complicated legal proceedings. The film explores the power of motherhood, family values and human rights. Rani Mukerji's powerful performance gives the story a deeper emotional tone and encourages the viewer to fight alongside the heroine.
