Late 19th-century Russia. Amid rising tensions with Britain, a mysterious mechanical flea is discovered in the imperial palace. Young officer Pyotr Ogaryov is tasked with the investigation and seeks the trust of Emperor Alexander III. He teams up with Levsha, a brilliant but forgotten craftsman from Tula.
