A young detective searches for his stolen pistol after it is used in crimes and murder.
In postwar Tokyo, rookie police detective Goro Murakami has his service pistol stolen on a crowded bus. Determined to recover it, he searches the city's criminal underworld, hidden haunts and poor districts. Meanwhile, the stolen weapon is used to commit several crimes, including murder.
