Scientists create Mewtwo, a powerful fighter, using the DNA of the ancient Mew. Angry at being used as a tool by humans, Mewtwo destroys the lab and seeks revenge. He invites the strongest trainers to an island, clones their Pokemon, and forces the originals to battle their clones. Eventually, he learns that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant and that life's value is defined by one's choices.
