Across a wild land, a man and a girl form an unlikely bond in a journey of survival and trust.
News of the World is a Western drama set in post–Civil War America. Captain Jefferson Kyle Kidd, a former Confederate officer, travels from town to town reading newspapers aloud to people who cannot read. During one of his journeys, he is tasked with escorting a young girl, Johanna, who was raised by a Native American tribe, back to her relatives. As they cross dangerous territories, they face threats, harsh conditions, and emotional challenges. Over time, a bond forms between them. The film explores themes of belonging, trust, and finding a place in a changing world.
