A resistance agent falls for the man she must help assassinate during wartime Shanghai.

The film is set in Japanese-occupied Shanghai during World War II. A young student, Wang Szyachji, joins a secret resistance movement and takes part in a plan to eliminate Mr. Yi, an influential official who is collaborating with the Japanese. He begins to live under a false identity in order to get closer to the official. Over time, the mission becomes more complicated, and a strong emotional and physical relationship develops between them. The hero is torn between his patriotic duty and his personal feelings. The film deeply reveals the complex nature of love, betrayal, political pressure, and human passions.
