Anna travels to Ireland to propose to her boyfriend on leap day, but fate has other plans for her journey.

Anna (Amy Adams) plans to travel to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend on February 29th, following an old Irish tradition where a man cannot refuse a proposal on that day. However, bad weather derails her plans, landing her on the wrong side of Ireland. She enlists the help of a local, cynical innkeeper named Declan to drive her across the country. As they travel through the beautiful Irish countryside, Anna begins to realize that the path to true love might lead somewhere completely unexpected.
