A devoted man fights social traditions to give the widowed woman he loves a chance at happiness.

Devdhar, a poor young man, has loved Manorama since childhood. However, social barriers keep them apart, and she is married into a wealthy family. After a tragedy leaves her widowed, Manorama becomes trapped by rigid traditions and societal expectations.
