Walking Tall" follows ex-U.S. Army Special Forces sergeant Chris Vaughn who returns to his rural hometown only to find it rife with crime, corruption, drugs, and violence. Unable to find honest work, he clashes with old friend Jay Hamilton who now runs the local casino linked to the town's decay. After being brutalized by casino security and seeing his family affected, Chris runs for sheriff and wins. Once elected, he uses his military skills to take on criminals, clean up the town, and restore law and order. The film blends intense action and personal drama in a vigilante-style story based on earlier true-story inspired films.
