A wounded writer near Kilimanjaro reflects on his life and lost opportunities.

The film tells the story of Harry Street, a writer traveling in Africa. He is injured while hunting and faces death at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. While waiting for help to arrive, Harry begins to remember his life and past events. He realizes that he has missed many opportunities in his pursuit of love, wealth and fame. Although his faithful wife Helen is by his side, Harry also thinks about his past love, Cynthia. The film tells a deeply philosophical story about human life, regrets and memories of the past. Against the backdrop of the beautiful landscapes of Africa, the hero's inner struggle and the process of understanding the meaning of his life are depicted.
