Ryosuke Nonomiya is a rural school teacher whose life changes after a tragic accident forces him to leave his profession. He begins a new journey with his young son, Ryōhei, but later makes the painful decision to send him away for education in order to secure his future. As the years pass, father and son live apart, yet their emotional connection remains strong.
