A metal drummer losing his hearing must redefine his life and identity.
Ruben Stone is a drummer in a heavy rock band and tours with his girlfriend Lou. Suddenly, he begins to lose his hearing. When doctors tell him that his condition will rapidly deteriorate, Ruben thinks his life and musical career are over. A former drug addict, he has a mental breakdown and goes to a rehabilitation center for the deaf. There, with the help of a coach named Joe and a new community, he learns to accept deafness as a different way of life, not a disease. The film tells a profound story of a person's ability to adapt to change, find inner peace, and embrace a new life.
