A gifted boy struggles between genius life and childhood freedom.
The film is about a very gifted boy named Fred Tate. Despite his young age, he is an excellent mathematician, writes poetry, and is interested in art. His mother, Didi, raises him alone and considers her son to be the smartest child in the world. Later, a scientist named Jane Grierson invites Fred to a special center for gifted children. In this environment, Fred further develops his abilities, but he is alienated from the life of a normal child. His mother feels as if she is losing her child. The film deeply reveals the complex relationship between parental love, talent, and childhood freedom, and shows human emotions in a powerfully dramatic way.
