A magic staff, ancient China, and two legends — Jackie Chan and Jet Li in one movie.

A teenage kung fu fan from Boston discovers a legendary golden staff in a Chinatown pawn shop. The relic magically transports him back to ancient China, where he joins forces with a drunken immortal (Jackie Chan) and a silent monk (Jet Li). Together, they embark on a quest to deliver the staff to the Monkey King and free him from a long-standing curse, while battling the evil Jade Warlord.
