Three comic adventures follow student Shurik as he outsmarts hooligans, students and thieves.

The film consists of three independent, but connected by the character of Shurik, comedic stories. In the first part, Shurik helps educate the hooligan Fedya through forced labor for disturbing public order. In the second part, he encounters funny and romantic incidents while preparing for the exam with the student Lida. In the third part, he tries to foil a plan to organize a fake robbery in a warehouse. The famous trio Trus, Balbes and Byvaliy also participate in this part. The film is considered one of the most popular comedies of Soviet cinema with its sharp humor, interesting situations and memorable characters.
