An Afghan horseman struggles for honor and his father’s respect.
The film tells a dramatic story based on the ancient Afghan game of buzkashi. The famous horseman Uraz wants to become one of the strongest warriors in order to earn the respect of his father Tursen. After being seriously injured during a competition, he is forced to fight his pride, anger and fear. Uraz tries to return to life with the help of his lover Zareh and loyal friends, but his father's strict demands put him under even more pressure. The film shows oriental traditions, male honor and family relationships in a deeply dramatic style. The picture is famous for its Afghan landscapes and equestrian scenes, and illuminates the theme of human inner struggle and pride.
