Bobby Deerfield is a famous Formula 1 driver who competes on the European race tracks. After a fatal accident involving a teammate, he begins to think more about life and death. By chance, he meets a mysterious and cheerful girl named Lillian Morelli at a treatment center. Lillian is seriously ill, but she strives to enjoy life. Bobby gradually falls in love with her and his worldview changes. As they spend time together, Bobby begins to understand the true value of life, the meaning of love and loss.
