A lonely antiques dealer searches for a true friend to win a risky bet.

“Dear Friend” is a French comedy-drama about human relationships and true friendship. The film centers on a wealthy antique dealer named Francois. Although he is successful and wealthy, he is actually a lonely person. His business partner Catherine tells him that Francois has no real friends at all, and a bond arises between them. Now Francois has to find his best friend in a short time and introduce him to her. In the process, he meets Bruno, an ordinary taxi driver. Throughout the film, the hero begins to understand his selfishness and mistakes in dealing with people. The picture is full of sincere humor and touching scenes.
