A fire investigator tracks an arms dealer who uses deadly fires to cover his crimes.

Sean McCaffrey works as a fire investigator for the Chicago Fire Department. When a deadly fire attracts his attention, Sean discovers that the incident may be connected to a much larger criminal operation. He begins tracking an arms dealer who deliberately uses deadly fires as distractions for his activities. As the investigation develops, Sean realizes that the fires are carefully planned and that the people behind them are willing to eliminate anyone who gets in their way. He follows the evidence, studies the patterns of the fires and attempts to uncover the connection between the crimes. His uncle Brian McCaffrey becomes involved in the case as Sean gets closer to the truth. The investigation soon becomes a dangerous race against time.
