Cutthroat Island is a 1995 adventure swashbuckler film directed by Renny Harlin that follows the daring quest of pirate captain Morgan Adams as she seeks to reclaim her family’s treasure and avenge her father’s betrayal. Set in 1668 Jamaica, the story begins with Morgan’s father, a notorious pirate, being attacked and left for dead by his treacherous brother, Dawg Brown. Before dying, he reveals that part of the treasure map—tattooed on his scalp—reveals the location of hidden gold on the remote and dangerous Cutthroat Island. Determined to recover the treasure and defeat her uncle, Morgan takes command of her father’s ship, the Morning Star, and sets sail with her loyal crew.
