A stammering king seeks help to deliver a crucial wartime speech.
The film tells the story of British King George VI. He unexpectedly ascends the throne, but has difficulty speaking in public due to a serious stammer. Therefore, he seeks the help of an Australian speech therapist, Lionel Logue. During their unique and sometimes funny sessions, the king regains his confidence. The film tells a profound story of friendship, patience and overcoming inner fears.
