Set during the Great Depression, the film follows Chaney, a quiet drifter who arrives in New Orleans searching for work and survival. He becomes involved in illegal bare-knuckle boxing matches after meeting Speed, a fast-talking promoter who sees potential in him. Chaney’s calm attitude and incredible fighting skills quickly earn him respect and money, but the dangerous underground world brings increasing risks and conflicts.
