A desperate escape turns into a brutal fight for freedom.

The film tells the story of Sergeant Im Gyu-nam in the North Korean army. After ten years of service, he decides to escape to South Korea, dreaming of a free life. However, his plan is exposed and a dangerous pursuit begins. He is pursued by state security officer Ri Hyun-sang. The hero is forced to go through minefields, military patrols and difficult trials. The film dramatically shows freedom, fear and the struggle of man for survival. Due to the sharp scenes, fast-paced events and strong performances of the actors, “Escape” is considered one of the notable Korean thrillers of 2024.
