An elite police unit enters Lazarat to destroy a drug cartel, but the mission soon turns into a brutal war.
Lazarat is a crime thriller set in a small Albanian town known for its illegal drug production and trafficking. Criminal groups have gained enormous influence over the local community, while corruption has allowed the drug trade to continue almost unchecked. An elite police unit is sent into the region with a dangerous mission: dismantle the powerful criminal network and take back control of the town. But the operation quickly turns into an armed confrontation as the officers face heavily armed criminals, corruption and betrayal. Some members of the community are directly connected to the drug trade, making it difficult for the police to know whom they can trust. As the situation becomes increasingly violent, the team is forced to fight not only the criminals but also the secrets surrounding its own members. The film was inspired by real events in Lazarat, Albania.
