A youth drug creates a second self with terrifying consequences.

The film tells the story of Elizabeth Sparkle, an aging actress. After losing her fame, she uses a mysterious black market drug called “Substance”. This substance creates a younger and more perfect version of herself, Sue. There is a time-sharing rule between the two bodies: one lives for 7 days, the other rests. Although everything seems ideal at first, Sue begins to strive for a greater share of fame and life. This leads to terrible changes in Elizabeth’s body and mind. The film explores themes of beauty, ageism and loss of self in a sharp, psychological and grotesque way. It criticizes modern society’s obsession with appearance.
