Two astronomers warn humanity about a comet that could destroy Earth.

Astronomy PhD student Keith Dibiaski discovers that a giant comet is approaching Earth. Together with his supervisor Dr. Randall Mindy, they appeal to the government and the media to warn humanity. However, politicians, TV stars and tech billionaires do not take the threat seriously. If the comet hits Earth, the entire planet could be destroyed, but public attention is focused on political debates and social media rather than scientific facts. The film uses a sharp satire to portray modern society, the media, politics and attitudes towards science, and shows the consequences of denying global problems.
