Sanjar learns diligence, honesty, and determination from his uncle, shaping him into a good person and skilled chess player

The events depicted in the film take place in the 1980s in Bukhara. Growing up in a fatherless family, Sanjar visits his uncle's house during the summer holidays and lives there for a while. His uncle, Jumash, is a cheerful and humorous person by nature. However, he and his wife suffer from childlessness. Sanjar, who looks after his uncle in various tasks, learns such qualities as determination, willpower, goal-orientedness, hard work, and honesty from his uncle. These qualities will play a key role in his future development as a good person and a skilled chess player.
