An elderly couple's visit reveals the changing bonds within their family.
“Tokyo Ghoul” is considered one of the greatest works of Japanese cinema. The film tells the story of an elderly couple, Shukichi and Tomi Hirayama. They come from a small town to visit their children living in Tokyo. However, their children are busy with everyday work and worries and cannot pay enough attention to their parents. Only their daughter-in-law Noriko shows them sincere love and care. During the trip, the parents experience how family ties change over time and the distance between generations. The film deeply and touchingly illuminates the themes of loneliness, old age, family duty and human love through ordinary events.
