Two friends travel to collect a dead father's ashes and confront painful memories from the past.
Victor and Thomas are two young men who grew up together in a Native American community. Their childhoods were deeply connected to Victor's father, Arnold, who eventually left his family. Years later, Victor learns that his father has died in Arizona and decides to travel there to collect his ashes. Thomas joins him on the journey, and their long trip becomes an opportunity to revisit memories from childhood. As they travel, the two friends confront old pain, family conflicts and their different memories of Arnold. For Victor, the journey becomes more than a trip to bring his father's ashes home. It gives him a chance to understand his past, confront his feelings and begin moving forward.
