A former detective returns to solve a mysterious high-profile murder.

Los Angeles-based private detective Charlie Waldo was once one of the most famous and successful detectives, but his personal problems have alienated him from society. He lives a simple, minimalist life in a small house on the edge of the woods. One day, he is recruited by his ex-girlfriend to investigate a complex murder case. During his work, Waldo encounters a mysterious crime involving a famous actor, media pressure and political intrigue. The investigation brings him back to the city center, where he is forced to fight to uncover his past, his mistakes and the truth. The film combines detective plot, humor and dramatic elements.
