A police chief races to prove his innocence.

Matt Lee Whitlock is the police chief of a small town. He is having an affair with a woman named Ann Merai, who claims to be terminally ill. He gives her a large sum of money, but soon she dies under mysterious circumstances and the money disappears. All evidence points to him, and the case is being investigated by his own wife. With time running out, he must prove his innocence.
