In a world without feelings or color, a young boy discovers the dark truth and fights to return memories to humanity.

In a seemingly perfect society without war, pain, or suffering, young Jonas is chosen to inherit the role of the Receiver of Memories. As he trains with an elderly man known as the Giver, he discovers the painful and beautiful truths of the real world—including color and emotion—that were suppressed by the community. Realizing the high cost of their "perfect" life, Jonas must escape to return these memories to the people.
