A terminal diagnosis inspires a bureaucrat to truly live.
The film tells the story of Mr. Williams, a civil servant living in London in the 1950s. For years, he has lived a dull and emotionless life, paying no attention to anything but his work. One day, he is diagnosed with a serious illness and learns that he has little left to live. This event forces Williams to search for the true meaning of his life. After communicating with his young colleague Margaret, he wants to benefit the people around him and leave a mark. Mr. Williams throws himself into the project of building a playground for children with all his being. The film creates a touching dramatic story about the feeling of life, even if it is late, of an ordinary person, and the value of kindness and humanity.
