A gamekeeper tracks a tiger to save it from poachers, only to walk into a deadly trap.
Pavel Shirokov is a hereditary gamekeeper living in the remote taiga of Russia's Primorye region. After poachers kill two endangered Amur tigers on his territory, a police operation uncovers the bodies of the animals inside a suspicious vehicle. Colonel Georgy Khazov realizes that the crime is connected to a larger criminal network involved in tiger poaching and smuggling. The criminals soon need a new guide who can lead them to another tiger. Khazov asks Shirokov to find the animal before the poachers do and prevent its capture. Pavel enters the dangerous wilderness and follows the tiger's trail, but the deeper he goes into the taiga, the more complicated the situation becomes. Eventually he realizes that the criminals have anticipated his actions and that he has walked directly into a deadly trap.
